Dr. Sterling McDermott, DVM
Dr. Sterling McDermott grew up in a small town in Central Texas. After completing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Texas A&M, he moved to East Texas. Here, he has practiced Veterinary Medicine for more than 10 years on both small and large animals. Dr. McDermott and his wife Christi, have four children, Emily, Jed, Avery, and Tucker, and each one of them play a special part in the family business.
From a young age it was instilled in Dr. McDermott that God came first, Family second, and Work third. This balance has served him well throughout his life. He has always enjoyed serving in various rolls at local churches wherever he has lived. Currently, he teaches an adult sunday school class at Rosewood Baptist Church. Family has always been very important as well. Dr. McDermott’s grandfather was a veterinarian in Cameron, Tx and some of his earliest memories were seeing him working on cattle and horses. This is what sparked the desire to become a veterinarian. His parents were ranchers and horse trainers. Being involved with the family business taught him many skills and most importantly a solid work ethic to do the best you can at whatever task God has set before you . Animals have always played a major part of Dr. McDermott’s life. Growing up he enjoyed raising cattle, training horses, and roping. These are all of the things that Dr. McDermott still enjoys today, with his children. He hopes to instill the work ethic that his parents taught him in his children.
Family and faith are both very important to Dr. McDermott, he hopes that this clinic will represent both well to the community and his clients.
